As we age we lose fat from some of the fat pads in the face, our muscles reduce ​in bulk, bone diminishes and we can begin to look tired, gaunt or sad.
Hyaluronic Acid is produced naturally by our body everyday. Synthetic, sterile ​hyaluronic acid is used as a filler to replace the loss of fat, bone and muscle in ​the face as we age. This helps restore a youthful appearance to our face and ​patients often report looking “refreshed”, or “less tired”.
The filler will then be reabsorbed by the body and metabolized in approx 6-18, months ​depending on the treatment type.
Dr Victoria believes in a gentle, natural approach to dermal filler. Using high ​quality products and safe techniques, these treatments can really help patients ​self-esteem and confidence. Small amounts are used to avoid over-filled or ​“pillow” faces.
Areas treated with dermal filler:
midface and cheek, piriform fossa, preauricular area, jowls, chin, jaw, fine lines on ​lower face and neck, smile lines, lipstick lines, smokers lines.
MIDFACE AND CHEEK FILLER
The midface is the foundation of the face. Volume loss in this area contributes to deep folds and the appearance of a "sad" or "sagging face".

Small amounts of high quality filler in the midface, cheek, piriform fossa and preauricular area can provide a more youthful, but natural appearance.
CHIN, JAW AND LOWER FACE FILLER
Bone is resorbed, muscle decreases and fat pads change size and migrate as we age. This contributes to jowling, a less defined lower face and deep creases which can be treated with dermal filler.

Some individuals are born with slightly smaller or recessed chins and small amounts of filler can help provide a more harmonious balance with the rest of the face.

MARIONETTE or NASOLABIAL FOLDS
Tissue loss and strong muscles pulling on the lower face can exacerbate marionette folds or mouth-to-chin folds and nasolabial folds (nose to mouth folds). A hyaluronic acid filler can be used to replace lost volume in this area and reduce the appearance of marionettes.

Usually 2ml-3ml of product is required for effective treatment.
FINE LINES AND WRINKLES ON THE FACE OR NECK
Once lines and wrinkles have formed and are present when the face is at rest (not pulling any facial expression), they typically wont be removed by anti-wrinkle or botox treatments. Very fine, soft filler can be traced along the lines to smooth them out.

Dermal fillers typically last 3-18 months depending on product, area treated and patient factors.
